Tidepools 2024 is a collection of art, poetry, fiction, and essays by MiraCosta College’s students, staff, and faculty. Centered on themes of family and the body, this edition highlights diverse voices exploring visibility, acceptance, and support. From LGBTQIA+ rights and women’s embodiment to the impact of technology and multicultural identity, Tidepools 2024 honors the stories our bodies remember, weaving them into a vibrant tapestry of creative expression.

As the intern for this project, I acted as a bridge between the client and student designers, ensuring clear communication and timely submissions. I provided feedback, answered questions, and facilitated collaboration. To grow as a leader, I focused on effective communication, teamwork, and delivering constructive guidance, making leadership a key element of my approach.

I facilitated seamless communication between the client, students, mentor, printer, and web department through emails and Zoom meetings. Recognizing hesitation among students during discussions, I encouraged open dialogue and took notes to ensure feedback was accessible. I also created a Discord server to promote collaboration beyond class time, fostering a more connected and supportive environment.
